WEDNESDAY, V-Day February 14th
Valentine’s Dinner | Chestnut Tea Room | 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Chef Suzanne cooks up a very special four-course prix fixe for you and your Valentine, so long as you can get a seat for either 6pm or 7pm at $50 each, then maybe saunter down to Steve’s for a jazz nightcap. If not, then you can always check out Sonic Sweethearts in J&J’s ODB, a V-Day Variety Show at Andy’s Bar, a lovely Blood & Honey concoction at OSDH&CP after the Wednesday Social Run, or you can check out Disco at BYOB and the new Gothic/Industrial Night at Abbey Underground if’n you want something a bit freakier. Also, heads-up on a new Vagina Monologues initiative for next week at TWU!
THURSDAY, February 15th
Sate of the City | Denton Convention Center | 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
The Denton City Council, City staff, and other community orgs will gather to share major milestones from the past year and key priorities for the future, as well as offer opportunities to get involved in our community with an engagement fair. You also get to check out the swanky new Convention Center digs! Thursdays are always poppin’ downtown with Glitterbomb at Andy’s, a bicycle social ride at Eastside, or jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, so you have options.
FRIDAY, February 16th
Third Friday Swing | Green Space Arts Collective | 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM
Whether you’re solo or bringing a date, take in some Swing Dance lessons and boogie-woogie the night away at this bi-monthly bash!
8os Flashback Dance Party | Dan’s SilverLeaf | 10:00 PM - 2:00 AM
This 80s throwback thowdown will be serving up big hair and lots of denim, so go ready to Flashdance and get Footloose.
SATURDAY, February 17th
Materials Hard & Soft Exhibit | Patterson-Appleton Arts Center | 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
We love us some Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square, and its never a bad idea to take a stroll down to the GDAC to check out their exhibits.
Tijuana Acid Party Zine Fair | The Bearded Monk | 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
The Bens are hosting a swap meet-n-greet for a bunch of local artists who publish their own indie comics and ‘Zines! Later at 7pm, they’re also co-hosting a special Wild Night of Wine with Wine2!
Keep Denton Thrashing | Oak Street Drafthouse | 5:00 PM - 1:59 AM
This 3rd annual celebration of Nick with music and art also raises funds for First Book. There will be a silent art auction, ping pong tournament, punk rock karaoke, and MC duties by those Two Brave Boys at Dan’s. Keep on thrashin’, y’all.
Day of the Dance | Black Box Theatre | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
The TWU Department of Dance and the Artists Enclave of Denton County present their second annual event with a showcase of eclectic dance performances, ranging from hip hop, modern dance, hula hooping, and we hope more than a little stanky leg. While there, inquire about Bone Doggie’s upcoming Cabernet Noir show.
SUNDAY, February 18th
Monty Python and the Holy Grail | Andy’s Bar | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Gather your Knights of NEE and bring your coconuts to revisit this classic quest! We’re guessing there will be Elderberry cocktails and a Black Knight guarding the door, but its those dreaded rabbit attacks you really have to be wary of!

What better way to wrap-up your weekend than with a delightful craft cocktail and jazz accompaniment in one of Denton’s favorite hideouts?
