Spring has officially sprung this week, with the Pilot Point tulips in bloom, which also means some welcome warmer weather or maybe rain. Who knows, its Texas. Since there is never any shortage of happenings, here is a look at our top #DEN10 shenanigans to check out as y’all are out and about #DENTONING this coming weekend.


THURSDAY, March 22

The Boombachs | Harvest House | 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
These Denton experimentalists combine hip-hop, jazz, and rock in a way that can only be described as “Space Gospel,” and you can trip the light fantastic with these hepcats at one of the best outdoor stages in town! Thursdays are also always poppin’ downtown with Glitterbomb at Andy’s, a bicycle social ride at Eastside, or live jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar, so make good choices.

FRIDAY, March 23

EGGS-ibition 3 | Aqua Dulche Mexican Kitchen | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM  
In it’s the third year, local artists, businesses and community leaders are handcrafting over 35 one-of-a-kind eggs for a Silent Auction like no other ... EGGS-ibition 3: This Time It's VIPersonal. All proceeds benefit Denton High School Family Assistance Foundation, whose mission is to provide financial assistance to current and former Denton High School students, faculty, and staff and/or their families in times of sudden medical or other financial crises.

Everywoman Celebration | GDAC | 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Prepare to be elevated by song, dance, poetry, jazz, and culinary delights in celebration of Women’s History Month. Headlining the evening are Texas Woman’s University and University of North Texas dance ensembles, jazz vocalists, Gwynne Johnson, and Cassandra Berry, and poet Linda Hernandez. They’re also hosting a screening of “Living Art - Jo Williams, Seeing the World with an Artist's Eye”, produced by Filmmaker Susan Davis. Come celebrate these and many other extraordinary women who contribute their talents to Denton’s cultural landscape.

SATURDAY, March 24

Johnny Cupcakes Pop-Up Shop | Hypnotic Donuts | 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM  
We love us some Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square, but the legendary Johnny Cupcakes, the World's First T-shirt Bakery, brings a super sweet Pop-Up Shop with a fresh batch of cupcake & sprinkle themed tees, socks, hoodies, sweatpants, snapbacks, leggings, stickers, pins and MUCH MORE! A free gift, raffles for swag, secret passwords, and Hypnotic Donuts amazing chicken biscuits await.

Koan School Song Swap Soiree #7 | Andy’s Bar | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.  
The Soirée Is back with a Saturday afternoon packed full of performances from some of lil' d's finest! 100% of the proceeds go to the Koan School, only $5 for an afternoon of song!

Clinic & Concert with Pulkingham Layne | Bonduris Music | 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM  
Bonduris Music is proud to welcome special guests and world class musicians, David Pulkingham and Darin Layne, as they present a clinic then perform music from their latest release, Stringology.

3rd Annual Luck of The Monk | Bearded Monk | 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM  
The Bens bring their belated St. Paddy's Day party with live music and amazing spring beers of all kinds, with PINT Services live-printing limited edition shirts. They will also have The Clover Patch with all sorts of good stuff from local Denton businesses and breweries that you can win!

Siren Song Burlesque Show | Black Box Theatre | 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Salty Lady Burlesque presents an intimate evening of burlesque and music, written and directed by Lilith Grey, that promises to take you through a journey of longing, pursuit, loss, and triumph. Featuring the incredible vocal talents of Madasin BordeauxTulla Moore, and Meg Lazuli, these melodies will stay with you long after you've left the show. Julia Bodiford, one of Denton's rising stars in the theatre world, plays the role of Reflection, escorting you through the tale woven by their singers and dancers.

SUNDAY, March 25th

Boca 31 Food & Beer Pairing | Eastside | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM  
The mouth-watering Latin Cuisine of Boca 31 is matched with exquisite craft beers for your sampling pleasure, but there are only 40 spots available so sign-up quick or be left drooling on the sidelines. Luckily, the Backyard Market will also be there ‘til 6pm with locally crafted items and art to peruse.

TUESDAY, March 27th

Nerd Nite | Bearded Monk | 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM  
Nerd Nite Denton is kinda like TEDtalks meets Drunk History, a variety show of eclectic nerdy subjects! This month they’re hearing about Denton & Dragons, The Koan School, and Tamara de Lempicka, as well as the Best Comic Ever!
