FRIDAY, January 4th
First Friday Denton | A Creative Art Studio | 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Experience Denton’s art scene in many forms on First Friday. These local businesses and galleries will have activities throughout the evening between the hours of 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with hours varying. It’s a great way to stroll through downtown, experience and observe local art!!
Sculpture Exhibition | UNT On The Square | 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Check out the new exhibits coming to UNT On The Square, then go catch some live jazz at Steve’s Wine Bar or Brewery Yoga at the DCBC!
The Red Death & Sleepyhouse| Dan’s Silverleaf | 7:00 PM - 11:59 PM
A very special show brought to you by Denton's own Sleepyhouse and The Red Death! Sleepyhouse will be releasing their self-titled debut while supporting a good cause raising money towards Liz Darbon's medical bills.
SATURDAY, January 5th
Life Stories: The Quilts of Barbara McCraw exhibit| Patterson-Appleton Arts Center | 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Browsing Denton businesses always pairs nicely with Saturday Jazz Brunch at The Chestnut Tree after some Yoga On The Square, but do not miss the amazing exhibit of Barbara McCraw’s stunning quilts and other cool stuff at the GDAC!!
1st Saturday Swing Dance| Green Space Arts Collective | 6:30 PM – 11:59 PM
$7 cash, cats and kittens, to learn some new moves for 2019!!
Star Party | UNT Rafes Urban Astronomy Center | 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Join the monthly star party where UNT stargazers offer a star talk and some telescope viewing! It costs a meager $5 per guest (Cash/Check only) but be sure you check Facebook for any cancellations before heading out to the event. Texas weather, yo.

Go celebrate the 54th birthday of our still-mising friend Joe Cripps with his family and friends, and they’re making a very special announcement that you won’t want to miss! All Ages!

Sunday Brunch | Chestnut Tree |11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Since 1994, The Chestnut Tree has proudly served Denton delicious Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch Options as the longest running restaurant on the Historic Downtown Denton Square. Go taste for yourself why (tho I’m still partial to their Saturday Jazz Brunch with bottomless mimosas).
East Oak Family Xmas Party & Casino Night| Eastside | 6:00 PM –1:00 AM
John’s krewe will have a huge tent set up out back with a casino night, played with fake money and for only folks invited. Folks with most chips will be able to pick from a ton of prizes including: basketball and hockey tickets, TVs, cash, neons, sweet swag, gift cards, bottles of booze and more!!!! Also all the cheese from Ten : One Artisan Cheese, BBQ, pork and sausage and sides made by our friend Vince Villanueva, desserts and treats from Grace Terrell(Paschall).
